Yes…I’ve lost a few pounds 🙂
And while I haven’t shared much about my journey, people have definitely noticed.
Friends and family have mentioned it. Attendees and speakers at events acknowledge my physical change. And my clients have applauded.
And as I talk with all of them, can you guess the question I get most?
Yep. You probably guessed it:
“How did you do it?”
And you know what my answer is? I tell them “you already know”.
There’s no big secret to losing weight. Just like there’s no big secret to saving more money, starting a business, building better relationships, advancing in your career or any other goal you may have.
If a friend asked you for advice in any of these areas – you could probably give it to them.
The better question to ask is: if you already know what to do, and you’re not doing it, what mindset shift must you make to take action?
Here’s how you can begin to answer that question using health and weight as the example.
1. ACCEPT the truth about what it really takes to get the results you want. (Accept that health and eating habits must change.)
2. BELIEVE that when you do it, you will reach your goal. (Believe that eating less, making healthier options and exercising consistently would result in a physical change.)
3. CHOOSE the combination of support mechanisms that work best for YOU to get the results you want (Choose food delivery service, private chef, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, surgery, personal trainer, nutritionist, therapist, bootcamp, gym membership, workout buddy, going vegan, cutting sugar, being a vegetarian, reducing carbs, workout videos, daily walks, meal prepping, spending weeks or months at weight loss resort, going on weight loss reality show, health coach).
4. And of course, be CONSISTENT.
Accept. Believe. Choose. Consistent.
