This past March at the Get RADICAL Women’s Conference, I had the great the honor of selecting Beth Caldwell as our 2011 RADICAL Woman.
Beth Caldwell owns her own public relations firm in Pittsburgh, PA where she specializes in working with small business owners and women entrepreneurs. She is a “40 under 40” Winner, having been recognized by Pittsburgh Magazine as one of the city of Pittsburgh’s most influential young business leaders.
Beth began Pittsburgh Professional Women as an online networking group in November 2002. The organization began with just 8 members, then quickly grew to 30, then 90, then 150.
In March 2003, she began having networking lunches at Panera locations all around the Pittsburgh area. Once the online group passed 250 members, Beth recognized the need for a real website. Originally the plan was to sell ads online to support the site. Not wanting to spend time selling ads, she realized that creating a membership organization would allow her to host important, useful, practical workshops that are affordable to attend.
She has won numerous community and business awards, and is the author of two books I Wish I?d Known That!, Secrets to Success in Business From Women Who’ve Been There and Inspired Entrepreneurs, A Collection of Female Triumphs in Business and Life.
Her third book, The Professional Women’s Guide to Getting Paid What You’re Worth, will be released in September. In her latest book, Beth focuses on helping women business owners determine their professional worth and then charge accordingly. Beth will be talking with me more about her upcoming book and the strategies in them in an FREE teleseminar.
