If there’s one thing that you can be absolutely assured of – it’s that in the course of living your life you will be:
* Disappointed
* Let down
* Devastated
* Overlooked
* Disrespected
* Ignored
* Disillusioned
* Upset
* Frustrated
* Crushed
* Shattered
* Overwhelmed
* Mistreated
* Slighted
* Insulted
* Dissed
* Written off
You will have moments when you feel like it’s just too much. The burden is too heavy. The mountain too rough and too high.
You will start to entertain the thought that “it” just isn’t for you – whatever your “it” is.
That loving relationship. That satisfying career. Financial security. True friendships. Fulfilling relationships with your children. A business that serves your soul and fills your bank account. A healthy lifestyle. Joy. Peace. Contentment. Happiness.
Yes, if there’s one thing you can be sure of in the course of living your life – it’s that things will not always go your way.
But…(don’t you just love a BUT in these situations)!!!
But we are stronger than our circumstances, situations, setbacks and failures. We are stronger than lost jobs, bankruptcies, divorces and devastating losses.
And we have to always be armed and ready to remind ourselves of that when we feel like giving up.
For anyone who has attended my events, you know that music plays a big part. Music has the ability, in an instance, to change your posture. It can stir your soul, lighten the mood, make you smile, laugh and give you an enormous injection of hope.
One of my favorite songs to keep me remembering the “BUT” is Walls Fall Down on Volume II of the Get RADICAL CD.
If you’re wondering if you have the strength to get up and dust yourself off. The inner power to try again and to give it another go. If you’re wondering if you have the energy to regroup, reset and re-launch. Remember the words of this song:
When the walls crashing down
You know I’ll still be standing
When the dust hits the ground
You know I’ll still be standing
I’ll get back up if I should fall
I will keep knocking down these wall
