Doreen has over 17 years experience in working with managers, executives, and leaders in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Engaging in a management coaching program with Doreen will develop or enhance management skills of your leaders and create the practical and tangible results needed to drive the organization’s success. Program length varies as each coaching program is custom designed based on a thorough needs assessment of the client.
The Process:
Step 1: Needs Assessment
This management assessment tool provides individuals a basis for understanding and gaining clarity on the areas of strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and opportunities. It’s designed to give the client the chance to focus on where they are, what they want to gain during the coaching process, and desired outcomes.
Step 2: RADICAL Action
Goal Setting – Initial coaching sessions are focused on the results of the questionnaire and clarifying responses and looking at perspectives and behaviors based on the answers. This session also sets target goals for the coaching relationship.
Coaching Sessions – Occur every 1-2 weeks for 50 minutes. Sessions are structured to review the actions, learning, breakthroughs, successes and challenges experienced by the client between sessions. The sessions will look at new approaches and strategies to becoming a stronger manager and leader. Coaching allows the client to deepen the learning about themselves while moving forward in becoming a more effective manager.
Step 3: Measure and Evaluate
The impact of coaching is ongoing. The adjustment of behaviors, skills, attitude, and employee interactions occur throughout the coaching program. Typically, coaching also positively affects other areas of the client’s life. Clients will provide feedback on their progress at the end of the program and a report is provided.
While goals vary based on assessment, benefits of coaching include:
- Becoming an effective leader with superior management skills
- Learning high-value conflict resolution skills
- Developing sharp, assertive communication skills
- Demonstrating active listening skills
- Improving your peer-to-peer interactions
- Mastering time management skills
- Providing meaningful feedback to employees
- Looking at situations from various perspectives
- Delegating properly
- Role playing difficult discussions
- Managing up and down the chain of command
